General Roy S. Geiger ~ Local and National hero was born and raised in Middleburg, Florida. His family homesite was where the Middleburg First Baptist Church is now located. While living here, he became a school teacher, principal, then lawyer and joined the Marine Corps in 1907.

His State Historical Marker dedication was May 23 at the Baptist Church.
